LIBERA NOMS INCLUDE PLEDGEMUSIC, RADIOHEAD

PledgeMusic and Spotify are among the seven nominees in the Libera Awards’ Independent Champion category. Nominations have been announced for the sixth edition of A2IM’s Liberas, which celebrate the indie world with awards in 17 categories honoring albums, companies, syncs and videos.

Other companies up for the Independent Champion award are Bandcamp, Merlin, NPR, Redeye and Secretly Distribution. Spotify, NPR, and Merlin have won in previous years.

“This nomination is particularly meaningful to me, as PledgeMusic has worked hard to nurture and support independent artists at every level of development, from signed to unsigned,” said Dominic Pandiscia, CEO of the direct-to-fan platform PledgeMusic. “Being recognized along with what I'm sure will be a very heady company of nominees is truly an honor.”

Among nominees in other categories are Radiohead for best live act, album of the year for Moon Shaped Pool (XL Recordings), video of the year and the Marketing Genius trophy; The Lemon Twigs, Whitney and Margo Price are among the breakthrough artist nominees; Flume’s Skin (Mom + Pop) is up for best dance/electronica; and ATO, XL and Daptone are contending for label awards.

The Libera Awards, which cap A2IM’s Indie Week in New York City, will be handed out 6/8 at the Playstation Theater.
